As the cool weather rolls in (fingers crossed for us Mississippians), so does that familiar stiffness in my “you’re no spring chicken anymore” bones and joints. But hey, I like to think I can still tear it up on the dance floor at any good shindig! One of the ways I stay light on my feet? Chiropractic care! And today, I’m sharing not one, but two little secrets with you:

1️⃣ It’s National Chiropractic Health Month!

2️⃣ I’d never been to a chiropractor before working with CHUSA.

Yep, you heard that right. My first time seeing a chiropractor was when I threw out my lower back trying to move something I had absolutely no business touching. Bless my little pea-pickin’ heart! 😅 But when I finally limped my way into the chiropractor’s office, Dr. C set me up with a treatment plan that was a total game-changer. By the end of it, I wasn’t just feeling relief in my back—I also noticed improvements in my hip pain and overall mobility. I felt happy as a hog in mud, y’all!

Sitting at a desk for long hours doesn’t do my body any favors, but regular chiropractic care keeps me aligned and helps relieve the aches that come with a sedentary job. Plus, working at CHUSA, I spend a lot of time researching chiropractic facts for our social media. The more I learned, the more comfortable and excited I became about chiropractic care. Did you know the training chiropractors go through is comparable to medical practitioners? That blew my mind. And don’t get me started on the misinformation out there—statistically, you’re more likely to die from medical malpractice than from a chiropractic adjustment. 🤯

I’m such a firm believer now that I’ve taken my whole family to the chiropractor, and I pretty much encourage everyone I meet to give it a try. If it can help my “not-so-spring-chicken” self stay on the dance floor, I bet it can work wonders for you too! 💃🕺

Make Chiropractic Visits a Routine: Think of regular chiropractic care as a tune-up for your body. By keeping your musculoskeletal system in check, you’ll feel more aligned and experience less pain. I like to go about every 3 weeks myself because I could feel my body stoving up by the fourth week, and it makes me feel better overall.

Stay Active: Whether it’s walking, dancing, yoga, or anything in between, regular physical activity helps maintain joint health and mobility. Shoutout to my Fitbody Boot Camp family for helping me be accountable! Find your tribe, squad, or person; that community makes a crazy difference!

Eat a Balanced Diet: A diet rich in calcium and vitamin D helps keep your bones strong. Incorporate nutrient-dense foods like leafy greens, fish, and dairy into your meals. Try staying on the outer perimeter of your grocery store to help keep nutritional foods at your fingertips because I know how tempting those seasoned pretzels and double chocolate chip cookies are!

Listen to Your Body: If something feels off, don’t wait until it becomes a bigger problem. Early chiropractic intervention can prevent small issues from turning into major setbacks. I go to Dr. C. with everything from achy knees and plantar fascitis, to should and back pain.
